Reese Poffenbarger - Joining Zips Poffenbarger has signed with Akron, Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Poffenbarger played two seasons at Albany to start his career, topping 6,000 passing yards and 50 touchdowns. However, he's been a backup over the past two seasons -- one with Miami and one with North Texas. Akron doesn't have a clear QB1 for 2026, which means Poffenbarger could have a shot at playing time.

He'll now finish the season with a 33-525-8 receiving line, with six of his touchdowns in his six games. Polk will now have two years of eligibility remaining heading into next campaign.
