Josh Johnson - Struggles in loss Johnson was 5-for-9 passing for 112 yards and an interception during Saturday's 49-30 defeat against Utah State. He also had 12 rushes for 25 yards.
Impact It was a tough game overall for Johnson, who threw an interception while fumbling the ball twice, losing one. Backup Liam Szarka would ultimately split work with Johnson later in the contest. It remains to be seen who'll start under center next week when the Falcons host Boise State.

Impact After Josh Johnson struggled early, Szarka took over under center to open the second quarter and shared work with Johnson for the remainder of the game. While he didn't do much through the air, there were some positives to take away from the sophomore's performance, particularly his performance running the ball. Szarka certainly made a solid case to start under center next week against Boise State.
