Impact Denegal is expected to be the Aztecs' starter this season, so it's a good sign the quarterback is healthy and participating in spring ball. He tossed for 1,807 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 58.8 percent of his passes last fall, also picking up 99 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Justius Lowe - Lands at San Diego State Lowe will transfer to San Diego State, per Brandon Huffman of 247Sports.
Impact Lowe had a solid season with Oregon in 2024, catching 21 passes for 203 yards, the first statistics of his collegiate career. However, he fell off in 2025, reeling in just six receptions for 56 yards. The wideout will now take his talents to the Aztecs, where he should have just one more year of eligibility remaining.

Javion Kinnard - Signs with San Diego State Kinnard will transfer to San Diego State, the program announced.
Impact Kinnard spent the 2025 season with Colorado State, rushing for 56 yards on 12 carries while catching 18 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown. That was his true freshman year; he'll have three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Aztecs.

Impact Acevedo was almost a non-factor in the Aztecs' passing game all season, but he had his best game yet with four catches for 61 yards as San Diego State narrowly fell at the hands of North Texas. It was good to see the Fresno State transfer close out his season on a high note, and he'll look to carry this momentum into his senior year next fall.

Lucky Sutton - Rare non-TD game Sutton accrued 15 carries for 60 yards and gathered in their only target for eight yards during Saturday's 49-47 defeat to North Texas.
Impact During 2025, Sutton logged at least one touchdown eight times across San Diego State's 13 games. He scored 10 TDs with 252 rushing attempts for 1,292 yards, all career-highs. It is safe to say that Sutton easily had one of the best 2025 breakouts, and he enters 2026 as one of college football's better running backs should another year be up for use.

Bert Emanuel Jr. - Quiet in start Emanuel completed 4 of 7 passes for 37 yards during Saturday's 49-47 loss against North Texas. He also had 11 rushes for 170 yards with two touchdowns.
Impact Emanuel got the start for the Aztecs, but only threw seven passes. He did, however, run wild in the narrow loss to North Texas, with 170 yards and two scores on 11 carries. Meanwhile, it was Kyle Crum who handled the passing for San Diego State, and he completed 14-of-29 passes for 169 yards and a score. Emanuel was hardly involved in his first year with San Diego State, and he'll have one season of eligibility remaining.

Impact Washington's last three games include two rushing touchdowns, which double his total tally of four across 2025. The running back logged them on 97 carries for 560 yards, a career-high.

Fast-forward three years, and with him still part of the Aztecs, they used him in place of an injured Jayden Denegal (shoulder). Crum's in-game rust showed as he logged more interceptions than passing touchdowns. Still, Crum scored thrice, a positive development that seemed far out of the question earlier in 2025.

Impact Emanuel will get the nod under center after Jayden Denegal (shoulder) was ruled out following surgery. Emanuel, a junior signal-caller, appeared in 10 games for the Aztecs in 2025, completing five of nine passes for 27 yards and adding 21 rushes for 104 yards.
