Donnie Cheers - Two scores in win Cheers had one reception (on three targets) for 32 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 49-14 victory against Western Kentucky. He also ran the ball twice for 27 yards and anoth...
Impact While Cheers didn't see a ton of volume Saturday, he certainly demonstrated his big-play ability, rushing for a 20-yard score late in the first half before adding a 32-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter. Cheers is expected to be one of Nevada's top receivers this season after he hauled in 44 receptions for 585 yards and five touchdowns last year at FCS Southeast Missouri State.

Herschel Turner - Splits workload in opener Turner recorded 11 rushes for 52 yards and a touchdown and gathered in 1 of 2 targets for 20 yards during Saturday's 49-14 victory over Western Kentucky.
Impact Both Turner and Dominic Kelley saw 11 carries in Nevada's opener, though the duo would combine for three rushing scores as the Wolf Pack leaned heavily on their rushing attack in the win. Turner totaled 353 yards on 69 carries last season. It'll be worth monitoring how Nevada's backfield shakes out in Week 2 against Montana State.

Dominic Kelley - Breaks out in Week 1 Kelley totaled 11 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 49-14 win over Western Kentucky.
Impact While Kelley would share carries with Herschel Turner, the the sophomore finished the day as Nevada's leading rusher, thanks in large part to his 72-yard touchdown rush on the Wolf Pack's opening drive, his first of two scores on the day. Kelley looks poised for a significant role out of the backfield this season. He totaled 54 yards and a touchdown on 23 attempts as a freshman last year.

Carter Jones - Leads Nevada past WKU Jones completed 9 of 15 passes for 163 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 49-14 win over Western Kentucky. He also had six rushes for 50 yards.
Impact While Nevada leaned heavily on the ground attack in the win, it was a solid start to the season overall for Jones, who completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 1,019 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine games as a freshman last year. Jones and the Wolf Pack will look to improve to 2-0 in next week's home matchup with Montana State, the reigning FCS national champions.

AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE

Luke Duncan - Loses QB battle Duncan has lost Nevada's quarterback competition to Carter Jones, who was named the Wolfpack's starter Tuesday, per NevadaSportsNet.com.
Impact Duncan spent the 2025 season at UCLA, where he tossed for 235 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-34 passing across two games. He had battled Jones all offseason for Nevada's QB1 gig, but he'll ultimately lose out to the returning gunslinger Jones who struggled last fall but looks to have taken major strides this offseason. AJ Bianco was also part o the three-man quarterback race, but this is now Jones' job with the season less than two weeks out.
AUGUST 25 • ROTOWIRE
AJ Bianco - Not starting QB for Week 1 Bianco will not be Nevada's starting quarterback Sept. 5 against Western Kentucky, Nevada Sports Net reports.
Impact Carter Jones won out Nevada's quarterback competition, briefly halting the QB1 chances of Bianco and Luke Duncan. So for a fourth consecutive season, it looks like Bianco's season for Nevada will be limited by a more preferred quarterback. At the very least, Bianco has thrown several passes in each of his three seasons, so opportunity may arise for him once again in 2026, albeit a limited one.
AUGUST 25 • ROTOWIRE
Carter Jones - Will start Week 1 Jones will be Nevada's starting quarterback Sept. 5 against Western Kentucky, Nevada Sports Net reports.
Impact In the fall, Jones was in the midst of a quarterback competition that began all the way back in the spring. In the end, Nevada's program stuck to what it knows by selecting its second-year QB from last season. 2025 saw Jones complete 110 passes for 1,019 yards and six touchdowns, so he has relatively good experience under center. The issue with Jones was his turnover rate; along with the six touchdowns, he also logged eight interceptions and did not compensate for his concessions by any other means. Ideally for Jones and Nevada, he has cleaned up in that regard, and that was somewhat shown in his last three games, where his TD-INT ratio was 3-0 across 61 pass attempts.

Carter Jones - Healthy for fall camp battle Jones (elbow) is participating in Nevada's fall camp and is still battling for the starting quarterback job, per Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net.
Impact Jones is practicing with Nevada's offense and is ready to try and earn the starting job after competing in the spring despite a lingering elbow injury. Last season as a true freshman, he made seven starts, tossing for 1,019 yards along with six touchdowns and eight interceptions. It was a learning year for the young quarterback as he continues to develop within the offensive system. Head coach Jeff Choate mentioned that he will not wait until the end of fall camp to announce who will be under center for the season opener against Western Kentucky on Sept. 5, so Jones must make a lasting impression early in camp to win the job.
AUGUST 8 • ROTOWIRE
DJ Asiasi - Expected to start in 2026 Asiasi is the odds-on favorite to start at tight end in 2026, Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net reports.
Impact Asiasi appears to be in line to start this upcoming season, but that does not mean he will be a productive option in the passing game. Murray reports that the Wolf Pack are not expected to lean as much on the tight end position as much as last season. Asiasi appeared in four games this past season, securing one catch for five yards.
APRIL 23 • ROTOWIRE
Luke Duncan - In QB battle Duncan is in a three-way battle for the starting quarterback position, Jim Krajewski of the Reno Gazette Journal reports.
Impact Duncan, who transferred to the Wolf Pack from UCLA in the offseason, is battling alongside Carter Jones and AJ Bianco for the starting job. He made two appearances last season for the Bruins, completing 21 of 34 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Since Jones suffered a strained UCL, the battle is expected to continue into the summer and potentially the fall.
APRIL 23 • ROTOWIRE
AJ Bianco - Battling for starting spot Bianco is in a three-way battle for the starting quarterback position, Jim Krajewski of the Reno Gazette Journal reports.
Impact Bianco is battling for the job alongside Carter Jones and Luke Duncan. Jones attempted 45 passes across seven appearances this past season, completing 60 percent of his passes for 188 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Since Carter Jones (elbow) suffered a strained UCL in practice, the quarterback battle is expected to continue through the summer and possibly into the fall.
APRIL 23 • ROTOWIRE
Carter Jones - In QB battle despite injury Jones (elbow) is in a three-way battle for the starting quarterback spot, Jim Krajewski of the Reno Gazette Journal reports.
Impact Jones, who appeared in nine games last season, is battling for the starting spot alongside AJ Bianco and Luke Duncan. Jones suffered a strained UCL in practice recently though, and that injury is set to push the battle into the summer or fall. It's far too early to tell who has the best chance to start, especially with Jones' injury.
APRIL 23 • ROTOWIRE
Marshaun Brown - Draws praise in camp Brown has impressed during spring and could earn a starting job in the upcoming season, Chris Murray of Nevada Sportsnet repots.
Impact Entering his fourth season with Nevada, Brown has made splashes during the offseason and appears poised for a big role this year. The sophomore wide receiver totaled 16 receptions for 164 yards and one touchdown across eight games last season.
APRIL 23 • ROTOWIRE
Damien Morgan - Heading to Nevada Morgan is transferring to Nevada, he announced via X.
Impact Morgan will make the switch from Iowa State to Nevada as he approaches his redshirt senior season. The 5-foot-10 wide receiver reeled in 53 catches for 607 yards and three touchdowns in the 2025 campaign. He'll now serve out his last year of eligibility with the Wolf Pack.
