For the third time in the last four months, Sasha Banks captured the WWE Women’s Championship by beating Charlotte in an epic match on Raw.

Banks and Charlotte first made their way to the ring for a title match just an hour into the show, but it quickly ended in a double count-out which allowed Charlotte to keep her title. Fans in Charlotte, North Carolina, were understandably upset with the result, but Mick Foley arrived and announced that the match would be restarted later, and added the stipulations that it would be a no count-out, no disqualification and falls-count-anywhere match.

The two women then main-evented Raw for the second time, and Banks somehow managed to stay alive despite taking a severe amount of punishment from Charlotte. In the middle of match that took place mostly outside of the ring, Charlotte hit her signature moonsault from the announce table to the unpadded floor below, but Banks managed to kick out.

The action eventually spilled into the lower bowl of fans, where Banks was able to trap Charlotte in between a railing for her Bank Statement submission. Charlotte quickly tapped, making Banks a three-time Raw Women’s Champion.

In a promo immediately before the match, Banks dedicated the bout to Charlotte's own Ric Flair, and promised to give the Queen City a real champion. As she was celebrating in the ring, Ric Flair made a surprise return and raised Banks' arm in the center of the ring.

In the ongoing WWE storyline, it was sweet revenge for Flair after he was last seen weeping in the ring when his daughter disowned him in one of the most emotional segments in Raw all year in May.
