UFC 203 Results: CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall

What happened when CM Punk made his MMA debut at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall?

On Saturday night, the MMA and wrestling world had their eyes on UFC 203 because former WWE star CM Punk would be making his debut. He’s facing Mickey Gall in a welterweight bout.

Punk announced he had signed with UFC in December 2014, agreeing to a multi-fight deal. However, training time and injuries pushed his debut back on a few occasions. This fight would be set during the summer and to take place on September 10.

Punk’s last televised competition appearance took place at WWE’s Royal Rumble in 2014. He competed in the over the top rope match, being one of the last eliminated. One night later, the former Straight Edge Superstar walked out of the company and never returned.

Well, Saturday night would determine how well Punk could make the transition from wrestling to MMA. Would he be able to defeat Gall? Or did the 24-year-old further his profile by defeating the Chicagoan?

Here’s a look at what happened during this fight at UFC 203.

Punk came out to “Cult of Personality”, his old WWE music. This is bizarre.

The fight would then get underway, with Gall quickly taking Punk down. The action would see Gall pound away at the back of Punk’s head, and a chokehold being placed on him. Punk would tap out moments later in the first round.

Punk got attacked, pummeled, annihilated, destroyed, manhandled, or any other word that fits. This fight was not close, with Punk not being able to land any offense in on Gall. He went to the floor quickly, and never got back up.

Questions could arise if CM Punk has a future in not only the UFC, but MMA. He has a multi-fight deal, but will he be able to hang with other fighters?
