REPLAY UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes II weigh-in and results

Published Oct. 22, 2014 4:54 p.m. ET

Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes will rekindle their rivalry Saturday night at UFC 179.

Aldo won the first fight by knockout back in January 2012, but it didn't come without controversy. The UFC featherweight champion held onto the fence to prevent a Mendes takedown -- a violation of the rules -- and then hit Mendes with a fight-ending knee.

"There's a lot that's changed, man," Mendes said Friday after weigh-ins. "I can't go over all of it rght now. I've grown up a lot. I saw the mistake I made in the first fight, I learned from it and I'm ready."

Can Mendes avenge his loss and become the new champion? Or will Aldo keep the belt in Brazil?

"He's not going to be able to take my belt," Aldo said. "Everyone can be at ease that the belt is staying here in Rio."

We'll find out if that's true Saturday. Here are the weigh-in results from Friday afternoon:
