Pyle vs. Waldburger added to UFC 170 in Feb.

Published Dec. 11, 2013 12:00 a.m. ET

Welterweights Mike Pyle and TJ Waldburger have been matched up for a UFC 170 pairing in Las Vegas, the UFC confirmed after the match was reported by The Las Vegas Sun.

Both fighters will be looking to bounce back from knockout losses.

In August, Pyle (25-9-1) was finished by Matt Brown in only 29 seconds. The defeat snapped an impressive stretch that saw Pyle win seven of eight matches, including four straight.

Meanwhile, Waldburger (16-8) was stopped by Adlan Amagov in October, coming on the heels in wins in three of his last four.

Both fighters are known for their outstanding ground games. Pyle has 16 submission victories while Waldburger has 13.

The contest is part of the still-developing card for the Feb. 22, 2014 event at The Mandalay Bay Events Center. The night’s headliner will be a five-round matchup between Rashad Evans and Daniel Cormier. The bout serves as Cormier’s debut in the light-heavyweight division.

Additional fights that have been announced include Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia, and Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rustam Khabilov.
