'Korean Zombie' returns to meet Akira Corassani in Sweden co-main event

"The Korean Zombie" is back.

After more than a year layoff, Chan Sung Jung will return to fight Akira Corassani in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night on Oct. 4 in Sweden. Jung, one of the most popular fighters in the featherweight division, injured his shoulder in August 2013 in a title fight against Jose Aldo and has not fought since then. The card, from Stockholm, will air live on UFC Fight Pass.

Jung (13-4) has fought only once since 2012, but has racked up quite the highlight reel. His d'arce choke submission win over Dustin Poirier was the Fight of the Year in 2012, he knocked out Mark Hominick in just seven seconds in 2011 and that same year he finished Leonard Garcia with a rare twister submission. Jung, 27, is currently ranked No. 6 among UFC featherweight contenders.

He solidified his "Korean Zombie" nickname with a Fight of the Year loss to Garcia four years ago in WEC. Both men took incredible punishment over three rounds of action.

Corassani (12-4, 1 NC), an alum of The Ultimate Fighter 14, was born in Sweden and seven of his pro fights have come in his native country. He is coming off a loss to Dustin Poirier in April, but won three in a row before that and seven of his last nine overall. The 31-year-old could carve out a spot in the top-15 rankings with a win over Jung.

UFC Fight Night in Sweden will be headlined by a welterweight contender bout between Gunnar Nelson and Rick Story. It'll take place the same day as UFC Fight Night from Halifax.
