Serena admits to dating drought

Published Jan. 12, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Tennis superstar Serena Williams has confessed she hasn't been out on a date "forever" and joked she was willing to change her criteria for picking a potential suitor.

The US tennis diva, who dated film director Brett Ratner back in 2005 and has also been linked to rappers Common and Drake, says she has been too picky when it comes to men and struggles to find the time to meet them.

"I haven't been on a date in forever," Williams told reporters Down Under on Thursday, ahead of next week's Australian Open in Melbourne.

"I can be super picky, never satisfied. It's a little crazy right now because there's so much going on that when I'm not playing tennis I don't sleep because I'm always doing something."

Still, when asked what her criteria were for picking a potential boyfriend, Williams joked that she was willing to try different options.

"Anywhere between 18 and 80, blond, purple or green," she said.
