Alisa Kleybanova of Russia has withdrawn from the French Open, citing illness.

The tournament says the 23rd-seeded Kleybanova will be replaced in the women's field by another Russian, Anastasia Pivovarova, who lost in qualifying.

Kleybanova reached the third round at Roland Garros in 2010, beating 2008 champion Ana Ivanovic in the second round.

The clay-court Grand Slam tournament starts Sunday.
