Abby Wambach's goal in the closing seconds of stoppage time during the 2011 Women's World Cup quarterfinals has been voted best moment in U.S. soccer history.

The goal, a header off a cross from Megan Rapinoe, came with the Americans about 90 seconds from being ousted by Brazil. But Wambach's goal tied the game 2-2, and the U.S. went on to beat Brazil in penalty kicks.

The Americans would reach the final before losing to Japan.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the U.S. Soccer Federation asked fans to select all-star teams for both men and women, as well as best overall moment. Wambach's goal beat out five challengers in bracket-style voting before topping Landon Donovan's goal against Algeria in the final group game of the 2010 World Cup for the title.
