Rafael van der Vaart has vowed to stay faithful to Tottenham this summer despite their failure to secure a Champions League place.

Van der Vaart has been largely excellent in his first season in England, scoring 13 goals, but some reports claimed the former Real Madrid man could look to move after Spurs failed to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

However, Van der Vaart insists he is more than happy to remain at White Hart Lane.

"I won't be looking to leave Tottenham to play in the Champions League," he said. "I have only been here one year. I have enjoyed my year and we will see what next season will bring.

"We always want to play in Europe. It is good to have the experience from the Europa League and it would be a nice title to win.

"You saw this season that being in the Champions League has helped us. It is so important for players and that's why we want to win our final game against Birmingham."
