Thierry Henry expects to return for a third spell at Arsenal - as either a player or coach.

The Gunners' all-time leading goalscorer would welcome another stint at Emirates Stadium, where he spent two months on loan at the start of the year.

Henry, who has 18 months left on his contract with New York Red Bulls, has yet to explore his options with Arsene Wenger but will resume his Arsenal career at some point.

"I would like to go back to England with Arsenal for sure," Henry is quoted as saying on SkySports.com.

"I wasn't planning to go back to play last season. It was only because Gervinho and (Marouane) Chamakh went to the African Nations Cup.

"I was there to train and they asked me if I wanted to play. Who knows what might happen in the future?

"I've not yet spoken to Arsene about it so I don't know what capacity I could go back in.

"Coaching does interest me but I don't know what my talent is going to be after I have finished my career. But I will go back to Arsenal."

Henry made his name at Arsenal, overcoming an inauspicious start to his Barclays Premier League career to fire 226 goals in 369 appearances in all competitions.

Last season he agreed a surprise return to north London, scoring twice during a string of cameo appearances.
