A study claims that the winner of the Champions League final between Barcelona and Manchester United will benefit from a ?126-million ($180-million) windfall.

Even the losing team will get a boost of around ?73 million just by reaching the showpiece game at Wembley, according to the report released Friday.

The report's author Simon Chadwick, a sports marketing expert at England's Coventry University, bases the figure on the official prize money from UEFA as well as an enhanced value of media rights and brand awareness.

It was commissioned by Champions League sponsor MasterCard.
