Sneijder dismisses transfer rumors

Wesley Sneijder is unaware of any interest in his services as exit speculation builds again ahead of the winter transfer window.

The Dutch playmaker only completed a switch to Galatasaray in January, but reports are suggesting that his stay in Turkey could be cut short after just 12 months.

The 29-year-old continues to be heavily linked with a move to England, with Premier League champions Manchester United known to have mulled over an approach in the past.

Sneijder, though, claims to have been offered no indication that a bid from Old Trafford is imminent.

He concedes that anything is possible during the New Year scramble for fresh faces, but insists he is ignoring the gossip for now and is focused on helping Galatasaray push on domestically and in Europe - with his goal against Juventus on Wednesday having taken them into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Sneijder told Dutch newspaper NOS: "I know only as much as you do, just the reports in the newspapers, which seem to come out every time the transfer window is about to re-open.

"It's pretty annoying when you're playing in Turkey. The people here are very emotional and passionate about it all.

"I have no desire to have to justify myself to the people every time my name is in the media.

"I'm fine here and enjoying myself, and the fact that we progressed in the Champions League is great.

"I am happy here, but you never know for certain what will happen in football."
