Luton Shelton scored twice to lead Jamaica past El Salvador 2-0 in a friendly Wednesday.
Ryan Johnson set up Shelton's second goal to help the Jamaicans seal a potential confidence-boosting victory ahead of back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against the United States in September.
Eliseo Quintanilla created most of the opportunities for El Salvador, which failed to translate a friendly crowd into a positive result.
In the third round of qualifying, Jamaica sits second behind the United States in Group 1 on goal difference, and will face the U.S. in Kingston on Sept. 7 and Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 11. El Salvador is third in Group 2 behind Mexico and Honduras, and will play home and away against Guyana over the same five days.
