The lifelong Manchester United supporter has admitted he is always eager to get one over on the Eastlands outfit and now has the opportunity to do so at Wembley. Tony Pulis' Potters are regarded as underdogs for Saturday's showpiece but centre-back Shawcross is confident they can match their wealthy opponents. "Whether it is the FA Cup final or just a normal game, I want to beat City," Shawcross told Sky Sports News. "They have improved over the last couple of years and spent millions on players. Even if Man City perform to their best, I'm sure we can equal them. "It's going to be a very difficult task and we're going to be underdogs. "As a young lad, you always dream of getting to FA Cup finals but to captain the team and at such a young age is a great achievement and I'm very proud of it. "We're going there to try and perform well. City are a very good team but if we do what we know we're best at hopefully we can come away with something."
