Sevilla goalkeeper Beto has been ruled out for at least 10 weeks after suffering a shoulder injury in the 2-1 midweek defeat to Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old was carried off the pitch on a stretcher in the first half at the Bernabeu after a collision with Karim Benzema.

And a statement from Sevilla confirmed that he is facing an extended spell on the sidelines and will probably require surgery.

"Beto has been diagnosed with a grade three dislocation in the left shoulder," said the statement on the club's website. "The injury probably requires surgery and, as a result, he faces an approximate period of rehabilitation of at least 10 weeks."

Beto is set to be replaced by 21-year-old Sergio Rico, who came on in his place at the Bernabeu.

Sevilla, who sit fourth in La Liga, are expected to also be without Jose Antonio Reyes and Benoit Tremoulinas for their trip to Getafe on Sunday.
