Rivals looking to dislodge PSV

Defending champions FC Twente, one point back, get the first crack at replacing them on Friday night, but face a testing local derby against Heracles Almelo. Although Heracles are struggling towards the wrong end of the table, coach Peter Bosz is determined to create the right sort of derby atmosphere to pull off an upset. "It's not like any other game, a derby of course is something special," he said. "It is extremely popular among supporters and the atmosphere is always great. "It is important to concentrate and play with good organisation that gives the best chance of success." FC Groningen can also leapfrog PSV on Saturday when they travel to another struggling opponent, third-from-bottom Excelsior. PSV themselves will have to wait until Sunday afternoon, and the visit of high-flying Roda JC, to try and add points to their own tally. Ajax, who are three points behind PSV going into the weekend - but significantly further back on goal difference - face what was once a key fixture but now looks like a straightforward match as lowly Feyenoord visit the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday lunchtime. The Rotterdammers have at least shown signs of life of late, and seven points from their last three games have lifted them five points above the relegation play-off places. FC Utrecht will be counting the cost of their European excursion when they head to VVV Venlo on Sunday without talisman Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The striker, who has 11 goals to his name this season, suffered a broken collarbone and it is not yet known how long he will be sidelined for. Saturday will also see Heerenveen take on De Graafschap, NAC Breda face Vitesse Arnhem, and Willem II travel to the capital to play ADO Den Haag. The match between AZ Alkmaar and NEC Nijmegen on Sunday completes the weekend's fixtures.
