Red Bulls acquire goalkeeper Gaudette from Galaxy

The Red Bulls have acquired goalkeeper Bill Gaudette from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for New York's 2014 second-round supplemental draft pick.

Gaudette gives the Red Bulls a veteran to back up rookie starter Ryan Meara.

Gaudette appeared in three matches for the Galaxy, going 0-2-1 with a 1.33 goals against average. He came to Los Angeles after a one-year stint with the Montreal Impact of the North American Soccer League.

The 30-year-old began his pro career in MLS with the Columbus Crew, who selected him in the 2005 supplemental draft. He appeared in 17 matches in 2005 and `06, posting MLS career highs in 2006 with 11 appearances, three shutouts and a GAA of 1.18.
