Norwich is aiming to strengthen its squad in the fight to stay in the English Premier League with the signing of midfielder Jonny Howson from Leeds.
Norwich says the League Championship club has accepted a bid for its longest-serving player but has not said how much it will pay.
The 23-year-old Howson is captain of the second-tier side but is out of contract at the end of the season, when he could leave for free.
Leeds says it has ''reluctantly accepted the offer on the basis that the player ... has expressed a desire that he would like to play Premier League football at the earliest opportunity.''
Norwich is ninth after 21 matches in its first Premier League season since 2004-05. It is 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
