The 31-year-old centre-half was an ever-present in Owen Coyle's side last season, finishing 14th in the Premier League and reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup. But the former Aston Villa and Fulham man is hoping Phil Gartside will now open his cheque book after a slump during the second half of the campaign. "The players have been fantastic but I do believe it's time for a revamp," he told the Bolton News. "We have to go into next season stronger and hopefully the chairman does stick to his word and bring players in because we have got a small squad. "There were times when we couldn't even fill the bench. We need a bigger squad with better, more experienced players." Knight added: "We're a team on the up. People are talking about us again because of the style of football we've been playing for most of the season. "We didn't show that in the last four or five games, but we only needed to win a couple of those and we'd be having this conversation having finished in seventh or eighth. "It wasn't to be, so if we can get those little additions of quality to the squad then I think we will push on and get into Europe next year. "That's not me blowing my own trumpet, that's something I have seen this season because we've had a great home record. "If we had have picked up a few more wins away then it might have been different."
