Juventus has been fined $38,970 after fans chanted racist slurs and unfurled a banner during its 1-0 weekend win over AC Milan.
The Serie A sporting judge cited a racist chant, an ''insulting'' chorus and an ''offensive'' banner unfurled during Sunday's match.
The club has insisted it was committed to ending racism at its matches and complained that it was being singled out. Juventus says in a statement on its website that such penalties should be applied ''elsewhere with the same accuracy and co-operation from clubs.''
Juventus won after Arturo Vidal converted a second-half penalty when Milan's reserve goalkeeper Marco Amelia tripped Kwadwo Asamoah. Milan was without suspended Mario Balotelli.
