Harry: Spurs serious on Samba
The 27-year-old Blackburn centre-back is in high demand this January and has also been linked with a surprise move to join Carlo Ancelotti's Paris Saint-Germain.
Redknapp has made no secret of his interest in Samba and could step up his pursuit after seemingly losing the battle with Chelsea for Bolton's Gary Cahill.
QPR are also interested in Samba, especially after his former Blackburn boss, Mark Hughes, took over as manager, but Redknapp thinks Spurs would be a preferred destination.
"I've tried to sign Cahill so many times. He is a good player and he is not expensive," the Tottenham boss is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
"Samba is a good player, too. If Tottenham wanted him, we would have a big chance, with no disrespect to QPR."
Tottenham could on Wednesday night move to within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester City if they win their game in hand against Everton.
