Britain's culture secretary is asking for a little decorum. He says cursing on the soccer field has ''gone too far'' and he wants the sport to do something about it.

Secretary Jeremy Hunt says he has some experience with this problem because he's been on the receiving end of such language as an amateur referee.

Hunt spoke on British television Monday and said he ''would like to see the football authorities do more,'' but ''we do need footballers to set an example.''

Chelsea captain John Terry was cleared last week of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a Premier League match in October.
