Espanyol quickly made up for the departure of forward Jose Callejon to Real Madrid by signing Uruguayan pair Juan Angel Albin and Adrian, while Sevilla was also active in a busy day for Spanish league transfers.

After selling Callejon to Madrid on Monday, Espanyol quickly brought in Albin from Getafe and Luna from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, with both players agreeing to five-year deals.

Getafe parted company with striker and captain Manu del Moral, who joined Sevilla along with Piotr Trochowski from Hamburg. Del Moral signed a four-year deal while Trochowski agreed to a five-year contract with the Andalusian club.

Later, Athletic Bilbao unveiled Ander Herrera, who joins the Basque club from Real Zaragoza.
