Edwards has not tasted first-team action since the 4-0 win over Blackpool in February because of a back problem. But he made his comeback for the reserves against Newcastle in midweek, and said: "It's been the longest time I've had out in my career. "There were times when I thought I was nearly fit and there were others when I felt a million miles away. "It's nice to hopefully come through the other side, but now I've got to work extra hard to keep myself fit and avoid future problems."
