Guadalajara climbed to the top of the Apertura standings with a 1-0 win away to Tijuana on Friday night.
Hector Reynoso grabbed the only goal of the game for Chivas in the 39th minute to give them their fifth win in seven league games.
Jaguares are up to sixth with a 3-2 win at home to Santos Laguna. The visitors took a 13th-minute lead through Jose Cardenas but Jaguares stormed back in the second half as Franco Arizala equalised (53) and Luis Rey's brace (57 and 74) put them in charge.
Juan Carlos Enriquez, who scored within a minute of his arrival as a substitute nine minutes from time, set up a nervous finish but Jaguares recorded their third win.
