The Brazilian federation is making changes to its football calendar from 2015 in response to player demands, limiting the maximum number of matches a team can play in a month to seven and guaranteeing 30 days' vacation.
Players have protested throughout the final rounds of the Brazilian league in an attempt to improve conditions, and warned the movement would grow next year if the national federation didn't show a commitment to make changes.
The federation said the seven-match limit will not count for teams playing in the final stages of the Brazilian Cup and the Copa Libertadores tournaments.
To accommodate the changes, the regional championships will have four dates less than presently.
The federation said changes to the 2014 calendar are not possible because of the World Cup.
