Blatter wants all FIFA members deciding WCup hosts

FIFA President Sepp Blatter wants every federation to vote on future World Cup hosts rather than just the executive committee.

Blatter proposed the change on Wednesday ahead of his re-election amid lingering anger and suspicions about the outcome of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup vote in December.

Blatter told the FIFA Congress that he wants the 24-man executive committee's role reduced to just creating a short list of candidate countries, saying it will ''make no recommendation.''

Instead, the 208 federations will vote on the hosts at a congress, which must also approve the vote change.

Russia was awarded the right to host the 2018 World Cup, while Qatar was the surprise choice for the 2022 event which has led to a series of - as yet unproven - bribery allegations.
