Bayern Munich to play MLS All-Stars

Bayern Munich will play against a Major League Soccer All-Star selection in Portland, Oregon, on Aug. 6.

The Champions League winners and Bundesliga champions say the team coached by Pep Guardiola will spend about a week in the United States.

Guardiola says the MLS has ''developed very positively in the past few years and we are looking forward to playing against their best players.''

Bayern board member Joerg Wacker says the United States is an ''important market'' for Bayern and that the club wants to get closer to its fans and explain its philosophy.
