San Lorenzo went top of the Argentina league standings with a 1-0 win over Rosario Central on Friday.

Former Hamburg striker Bernardo Romeo scored the sole goal in the 43rd minute as San Lorenzo moved above Buenos Aires rival Velez Sarsfield, which was held to a 1-1 draw by midtable Lanus.

Left back Maximiliano Velasquez put Lanus ahead before midfielder Leandro Somoza equalized for Velez eight minutes from time.

Reigning Copa Libertadores champions Estudiantes can move to the top of the Apertura table with a win at Newell's Old Boys on Sunday.

On Saturday it's: Gimnasia vs. Colon; Arsenal vs. Banfield; Argentinos Juniors vs. Racing Club; Tucuman vs. Godoy Cruz.

On Sunday: Independiente vs. Chacarita Juniors; Huracan vs. River Plate; Boca Juniors vs. Tigre; Newell's vs. Estudiantes.
