Notes, tidbits and stats heading into Saturday's Big Ten championship game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes:

-- This is the 80th meeting between Wisconsin and Ohio State with the Buckeyes leading the all-time series 56-18-5. These teams have never met on a neutral field. Ohio State has won six of the last seven matchups.

-- This is the 16th time Wisconsin and Ohio State meet with both ranked in the Associated Press top 25 poll. The Badgers are 4-9-2 in those games.

-- The Badgers are 5-5 under Gary Andersen when they score under 30 points and 14-1 when scoring 30+.

-- Wisconsin is 10-0 when holding opponents 100 yards or fewer rushing in the Andersen era.

-- Under Andersen, Wisconsin is 13-1 when scoring first (6-1 in 2014), 6-5 when the opponent scores first (4-1 in 2014), 13-1 when leading after the first quarter (5-1 in 2014), 4-5 when trailing after the first quarter (3-1 in 2014), 17-3 when leading at halftime (8-1 in 2014), 1-2 when trailing at halftime (1-1 in 2014), 19-2 when leading after the third quarter (10-1 in 2014) and 0-4 when trailing after the third quarter (0-1 in 2014).

-- Wisconsin owns the third-longest active winning streak in the country (7). Ohio State, though, has the second-longest (10).

-- Wisconsin has won 11 straight games in the state of Indiana dating back to 2004.

-- Wisconsin has 17 100-yard rushers against Ohio State, but only one over 200 (Marck Harrison with 203 in 1984). The Badgers had a 100-yard rusher vs. the Buckeyes in every year from 1999-2004, but only two since (John Clay, 2010; Montee Ball, 2012).

-- Wisconsin has 12 200-yard passers against Ohio State but are just 2-10 in those games.

-- Wisconsin has seven 100-yard receivers against Ohio State but are 0-7 in those games. Jared Abbrederis has the most yards, 207 in 203. The next-highest is 140 yards (Travis Beckum) and third-highest 113, also  by Abbrederis.

-- Ohio State against the six teams it faced with a non-winning record is allowing 3.30 yards/rush. Against the six teams it faced with a winning record, the Buckeyes are allowing 4.73 yards/rush. Take away sacks and that number increases to 5.58 yards/rush. (The six winning teams: Navy, Cincinnati, Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan State and Minnesota.)

-- Ohio State has had a sack in every game and multiple sacks in 10 of 12 games. Wisconsin has allowed 8 sacks in 12 games.

-- A Badgers tight end hasn't had a 100-yard receiving game since Lance Kendricks did it in back-to-back weeks in 2010 vs. Arizona State on Sept. 18 and Austin Peay on Sept. 25.

-- Melvin Gordon needs 83 yards rushing to pass Marcus Allen (1981) for 3rd place and 308 to pass Kevin Smith (2007) for 2nd place on the FBS all-time single season list. Gordon enters needing 369 yards to pass Barry Sanders. Including Sanders' bowl game, which for some reason the NCAA does not, Gordon needs 591 yards.

-- Gordon needs one touchdown to become just the third player to rush for 2,000 yards and score 30 TDs in a season (Barry Sanders, 2008, and Kevin Smith, 2007).

-- Gordon needs 89 rushing yards to pass Anthony Davis for 3rd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gordon needs 67 rushing yards to pass Darrell Thompson for 8th place on the Big Ten's all-time rushing list.

-- Gordon needs two rushing touchdowns to tie Billy Marek for 4th place and three to tie James White for 3rd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gordon needs one touchdown to pass Billy Marek for 4th place and two to tie and three to pass James White for 3rd place on UW's all-time list. Gordon enters 25 TDs behind Ron Dayne at No. 2.

-- Gordon needs one rushing touchdown to pass Anthony Thompson (1988) and Ki-Jana Carter (1994) for 2nd place on the Big Ten's all-time single-season list.

-- If Joel Stave starts it will be for the 27th time at Wisconsin, breaking a tie with Tony Lowery and Scott Tolzien for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave's next win as starting quarterback will be his 21st, tying Scott Tolzien for 5th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 350 passing yards to pass Mike Samuel for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 20 pass completions to tie and 21 to pass Randy Wright for 6th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave needs 2 passing touchdowns to tie and three to pass Randy Wright and Brooks Bollinger for 3rd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Rafael Gaglianone needs 2 extra points to tie and 3 to pass Taylor Mehlhaff (2005) for 2nd place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Galglianone needs 2 field goals to tie Matt Davenport (1998) for 5th place and three to tie Todd Gregoire (1984) and Philip Welch (2008) for 3rd place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Kenzel Doe has 1 kick return for a touchdown. Only two Wisconsin players have had 2 kick returns for TDs: Ira Matthews and Nick Davis.

-- Doe needs 1 kick returns pass Marvin Neal for 5th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Joe Schobert and Vince Biegel have 2 forced fumbles. One more would tie him with many players for the third-most in a season in UW history. Chris Borland holds the record with 5 (done twice, in 2009 and 2011).

-- Biegel needs 1.5 sacks to tie Mike Thompson (1992), Tom Burke (1997) and Alex Lewis (2003) for 9th place on UW's all-time single-season list.
