Scout 300 Commits

Two Scout 300 prospects from the West came off the board in the last week.

Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty four-star linebacker Krys Barnes committed to UCLA on Saturday after taking an unofficial visit to Westwood.

Prior to the visit, Barnes didn't have an offer from the Bruins, but was offered by head coach Jim Mora and linebackers coach Scott White and committed on the spot, giving the Bruins a top five middle linebacker.

A couple days later, Westlake (Calif.) four-star receiver Theo Howard committed to Oregon after taking an unofficial visit to Eugene.

Howard had an offer from the Ducks since before Signing Day, but it was the unofficial visit that swung his recruitment in the Ducks favor.

Ground Zero Announcements

Four players from Ground Zero will announce their college decisions on Monday, incuding four four-stars.

The Inland Empire-based Ground Zero won the Pylon Elite National 7v7 in Las Vegas earlier this month, and Barnes came down from Bakersfield to play with them.

But the majority of their team is from the Inland Empire and a quartet will announce on Monday evening.

Rialto (Calif.) Carter linebacker Lokeni Toailoa and Fontana (Calif.) Summit receiver Damian Alloway, both Scout 300 members in the 2016 class, will announce.

Joining them from the 2016 class is Toailoa's brother, three-star safety Leni Toailoa and Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak four-star receiver Demetric Felton.

Rounding out the group of announcers is Fontana (Calif.) Summit 2017 four-star running back Stephen Carr, one of the top backs in the West regardless of class.
