LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) Swimming's governing body says it has banned American diver David Bonuchi for two years for taking a banned stimulant at the 2013 world championships.
FINA says it ''discovered that during the period'' of the event held in Barcelona, Spain, Bonuchi ''used a prohibited substance amphetamine'' without a medical exemption.
The governing body did not state that the 22-year-old diver tested positive.
Bonuchi's ban was applied from July 21, 2013 - the day he placed 10th in the synchronized 10-meter platform event with Toby Stanley.
