NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year deal with safety Michael Griffin after tagging the five-year veteran as their franchise player back in March.
The Titans announced the deal Tuesday shortly after the end of their first session of three-day minicamp.
General manager Ruston Webster says Griffin is a talented and successful young player that the Titans want to keep in a core that can grow together. He said in a statement Griffin showed a great deal of professionalism in dealing with the franchise tag.
A two-time Pro Bowl safety, Griffin did not balk at being tagged and has taken part in the team's offseason program. He was a first-round draft pick in 2007 and has 17 interceptions.
