The Texas Motor Speedway racing schedule for 2013 will look a lot like the 2012 schedule.

The IZOD IndyCar Series will return to the track for the June 8 Firestone 550, ending speculation that the series may not return to the 1 ½-mile quadoval. It will mark the 17th year the series has been at the track and the weekend will once again be paired with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The two NASCAR Sprint Cup dates have also been set, with the Apr. 13 Texas 500 the first night race on the 2013 Sprint Cup schedule. The Nationwide Series will have its race April 12.

The AAA Texas 500 will again be the eighth race in the Sprint Cup Chase. The Nov. 3 race will cap race weekend that also includes a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race as well as a Nationwide event.

"Most cities look forward to the circus coming to town once a year, but we’ll guarantee three coming next year to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with the Texas 500 in April, Firestone 550 in June and the AAA Texas 500 in November," said Gossage, who is nearing completion of the sanction agreements with both NASCAR and IndyCar.
