BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- Allen Crabbe shook off a terrible shooting night to score seven points down the stretch, including a 3-pointer with 13.5 seconds left, and California hung on to beat Arizona State 66-62 on Thursday night.
Crabbe missed eight of his first nine shots and committed what nearly was a costly turnover with just over a minute to play before making his clinching shot from beyond the arc. The freshman starter finished with 10 points for the Golden Bears (13-9, 6-4 Pac-10).
Markhuri Sanders-Frison added 13 points and seven rebounds, Brandon Smith had 11 points and Harper Kamp added 10 points and seven rebounds for California, which has won four straight.
Trent Lockett had 18 points for Arizona State (9-13, 1-9), but had his potential go-ahead shot blocked by Kamp with 46 seconds left. The Sun Devils scored just two points over the final 5:41 after taking a 60-54 lead.
