Stephen F. Austin overwhelms North Texas 87-53

DENTON, Texas (AP) -- Deshaunt Walker scored 22 points and sank five 3-pointers to help Stephen F. Austin coast past North Texas 87-53 Sunday.

The Lumberjacks (9-2) had a four-point lead midway through the first half, but broke away with a 21-2 run sparked by a trio of 3-pointers from Walker. Stephen F. Austin coasted to a 47-24 halftime advantage and led by as much as 37 in the second half.

Jacob Parker scored 14 points and Thomas Walkup added 13 for the Lumberjacks, who shot 48.2 percent from the field. They were also 26 of 29 from the free throw line.

North Texas (5-5) never led in the game, was just 15 of 43 on field goal attempts and committed 22 turnovers. They were paced by Jordan Williams with 14 points on 4-of-12 shooting. Vertrail Vaughns added 11 points for the Mean Green.
