IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have signed ex-Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden to what sources say is a two-year contract.
Weeden, 30, started eight games in 2013, completing 52.3 percent of his passes for 1,731 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The Cowboys signed Weeden to the veteran minimum. Weeden will make $570,000 in 2014 and $670,000 in year two of the contract.
The Oklahoma State product (teammate of Dez Bryant there) was a first-round pick of Cleveland in the 2012 draft.
In two seasons with the Browns, Weeden compiled a 5-15 record with 23 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. Weeden was released last week by the Browns, who own the No. 4 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and are expected by many to select a quarterback in the first round.
With Tony Romo already backed up by Kyle Orton, the Cowboys might carry three QBs on the roster -- something they have not done of late. Orton, however, has also been considering retirement.
Dallas is also hosting defensive linemen Henry Melton (today) and Jared Allen (Tuesday).
