OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) Room For Me took the lead turning for home and raced to a 5 3/4-length victory Saturday in the $75,000 Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Owned and trained by David Jacobson, Room For Me covered six furlongs in 1:09 1/5. The Daniel Centeno-ridden 5-year-old paid $5, $3.40 and $2.80 in winning for the eighth time in 17 career starts.
Aireofdistinction capped a 1-2 finish for Jacobson and paid $4.60 and $3.40. Legal Laura finished third in the field of seven fillies and mares and returned $2.80 to show.
''She broke good and had a clean trip,'' Centeno said. ''I turned for home and at the quarter-pole, when I put her outside I had plenty of horse.''
