Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who was at the heart of a bullying scandal last season, has been admitted to a psychiatric care unit in Arizona, NFL.com and TMZ Sports reported.
Incognito was admitted of his own will and acknowledged needing help, the TMZ report said.
This comes after Scottsdale (Ariz.) police said that Incognito admitted to damaging his own Ferrari with a bat earlier this week.
Incognito has exhibited bizarre behavior since special investigator Ted Wells released a 144-page report that implicated Incognito in the mistreatment of teammate Jonanthan Martin.
Incognito was quick to denounce the report and said he was quitting Twitter after other users of the social media platform began to lash out at him.
On Feb. 17, he was back on Twitter, firing his agent through a tweet and apologizing for ''acting like a baby.'' At the time, he said was in ''good spirits'' in a series of Twitter posts for his actions toward fellow Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin.
He has not posted anything on his Twitter feed since Feb. 18.
