MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin has added BYU to its schedule in 2013 as part of a home-and-home series, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

The game will take place at Camp Randall Stadium and could be played Sept. 14 based on open dates in both teams' schedules, the report said. No return date has been announced.

On Wednesday, Badgers football coach Bret Bielema tweeted: “Waiting on a signature to make 2013 final, and then we should be good to go.”

The BYU-Wisconsin series has reportedly been in the works for some time. In March, BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said there was a "good chance" that BYU could schedule Wisconsin.

Though there hasn't been an official announcement on the BYU series, Wisconsin officials have announced the Badgers will play Arizona State on the road in 2013.

Massachusetts already has announced it will play at Wisconsin on Aug. 31 to open the 2013 season, leaving one more nonconference game on the Badgers' slate.

BYU is a considerable step up in competition from some of Wisconsin's other nonconference games in recent seasons. The Cougars finished last season 10-3 — which included a 14-13 victory against Ole Miss in the season opener — and beat Tulsa in the Armed Forces Bowl.
