Rangers manager not worried about contract

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington didn't seem too fazed Tuesday about being in the final year of his contract with the club.

"I'm not worried about that," said Washington, who signed a two-year deal before the 2013 season. "That will take care of itself."

That's the same approach general manager Jon Daniels is taking too.

Daniels isn't a fan of talking about contract details publicly, but he made it sound like Washington's days with the Rangers weren't numbered.

"He's been a huge part of what we've done here," Daniels said. "It's been a partnership from Day One and I expect that to continue going forward. We'll handle contracts and personal matters privately."

Since becoming the manager in 2007, Washington is 611-524. The 611 wins are the most by a manager in franchise history. He's also led the Rangers to their only two trips to the World Series.
