Utility man Brent Lillibridge was one of four players the Texas Rangers agreed to minor-league deals with invites to spring training Thursday.
Texas also agreed to terms with infielder Kevin Kouzmanoff, right-hander Armando Rodriguez and shortstop Josh Wilson.
Lillibridge, 30, has spent time in the majors for the last six years. He played for both the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees in 2013, hitting just .119 with five RBI at the big-league level. Kouzmanoff has 85 homers in the majors but spent last season in Triple A. Wilson played in 30 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013, batting .200 with a homer and four RBI. He’s played in 386 games in the majors since 2005.
Rodriguez has spent his entire career with the New York Mets organization. The 25-year-old has no big-league experience.
The Rangers also signed right-hander Doug Mathis to a minor-league deal. That deal does not include a big-league invite to spring training. Mathis made his major-league debut for Texas in 2008.
