NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- All-American gymnast Natasha Kelley is giving up the sport after tearing the Achilles tendon on her right foot, the latest in a line of serious injuries during her career at Oklahoma.
Kelley finished fourth on the balance beam at the NCAA championship meet last year. She also was a second-team All-American on uneven bars, an event on which she tied for the best score during the team competition.
Kelley played a key role in in Oklahoma placing second at the 2010 national meet and third last year.
Kelley missed the 2009 season after tearing the Achilles tendon in her left foot. She then competed in 2010 and '11 despite having a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.
