NEW YORK (AP) -- The Brooklyn Nets signed veteran forward Josh Childress on Thursday.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Childress got a one-year, non-guaranteed contract.

The 29-year-old Childress averaged 2.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 34 games with the Suns last season and was let go via the amnesty clause, clearing the way for the Suns to claim forward Luis Scola off amnesty waivers from the Rockets.

Childress, the fourth pick overall in the 2004 draft out of Stanford, has career averages of 9.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 373 career games with Atlanta and Phoenix. He also spent two seasons in Greece in 2008-10.
