Miss France won the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket by a neck Sunday, giving trainer Andre Fabre his first victory in the first fillies' classic of the season.
The 7-1 shot held off Lightning Thunder, which went off at 14-1, while Ihtimal was third. Manderley, a 100-1 shot, was in front with a furlong to run and finished fourth.

Miss France was sixth in her return to racing in the Prix Imprudence at Maisons-Laffitte. She was removed from Guineas betting by some bookmakers at that point.
