NEW YORK (AP) Mets right-hander Tim Peterson has been suspended for 80 games under baseball's minor league drug program following a positive test for a metabolite of Trenbolone.

Peterson, who turns 24 on Feb. 22, was 5-2 with a 4.28 ERA in 32 relief appearances and one start last year for Class A St. Lucie and Savannah and Double-A Binghamton. A 20th-round draft pick from the University of Kentucky in 2012, he currently is on St. Lucie's roster.

His suspension, announced Tuesday, was the 31st this year under the minor league program.
